Our Orthopedics and Sports Medicine practice is looking for a motivated, patient-focused Medical Assistant, EMT, CNA, PCA, or other hands-on clinical support professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being part of a collaborative care team. Schedule and Locations This role offers full-time schedule options, including 8- or 10-hour shifts, with hours that may range from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, based on clinic needs. In addition to full-time opportunities, we are open to exploring other FTE arrangements and per diem opportunities depending on a candidate’s goals and availability. • Practice locations include Somersworth, Lee, and Portsmouth, NH • New hires are expected to rotate across practice sites as part of the departmental onboarding program to gain exposure to different locations, workflows, and care teams • A Medical Assistant’s work assignment will be tied to their provider’s primary location and may include travel with that provider to other practice locations as needed • During the training period, we work to match each new hire with the right provider and corresponding care team to support long-term success Qualifications Why Join Our Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Team? Job Summary Primary Care at Pease is a full-service practice with board-certified family and internal medicine providers. Our practice is located in a state-of-the-art facility at 67 Corporate Drive in Portsmouth, NH 03801. As Family Medicine office, we provide outstanding primary care and preventative health care to patients of all ages. We are seeking a full-time (36-hour) Medical Assistant to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with one scheduled day off each week (likely Tuesday). Summary The role supports healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers. Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow. This role involves direct interaction with patients to ensure their comfort and address concerns, as well as collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Assists junior Medical Assistants with day-to-day questions and responsibilities and helps facilitate their learning by participating in onboarding training. -Show patients to examination rooms, prepare necessary equipment for healthcare providers, and interview patients to obtain medical information, measure their vital signs, weight, and height, and record information in the patient's medical record. -Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions to patients, ordering and organizing educational materials to reinforce patient education. -Perform general office duties, such as answering phones, taking dictation, and completing insurance forms, while acting as a liaison with other departments and advocating for patients with a positive customer service approach. -Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log them, and prepare them for testing; perform phlebotomy if competence is demonstrated. -Maintains inventory of immunizations and check expiration dates. -Provides immunizations (as applicable) which requires certification or 3 years of experience administering a vaccine and supervision of a provider. -Responsible for improving appropriate departmental quality initiatives, such as two patient identifiers and hand hygiene.
