Overview: As a Medical Assistant at Hometown Urgent Care, you will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare delivery by assisting healthcare professionals in various clinical and administrative tasks. Canton, Massillon, and possibly Wooster and Cuyahoga Falls. This is a Part Time position with focus on call out coverage and weekends. Duties: Responsible for taking patient history and obtain vital signs Perform basic testing or screenings such as: vision, audio, urine drug screens, breath alcohol, EKGs, pulmonary function testing. Perform necessary phlebotomy for collection of laboratory samples. Accurately complete corresponding paperwork/computer work for lab tests ordered on blood, urine, tissue, and culture samples. Able to perform subcutaneous, intradermal, and intramuscular injections and accurately complete paperwork according to policy for that procedure. Perform point of care testing such as: strep, mono, glucose, influenza, Urine pregnancy, Urinalysis, blood glucose levels. Dispense and document medications and other treatment modalities. Insure sterile technique, instrument cleaning and sterilization, proper use of the autoclave. Schedule and coordinate necessary records for ancillary care for patients. Assist providers with exams and testing (pelvic exams, eye irrigations and ear irrigations, I & D’s and splinting/ ortho-glass preparation Perform occupational medicine testing such as: urine drug screens, breath alcohol testing, audiogram, and DOT physicals Maintain confidentiality with all patient information (HIPAA). Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to manager. Logs laboratory procedures completed. Processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed. Stark Ambulatory Surgery Center is looking to add a Full Time Medical Assistant who is a team player to our Outpatient GI Center! Welcome to Stark Ambulatory Surgery Center! As a Medical Assistant at Stark Ambulatory Surgery Center, you will have the opportunity to work alongside highly-trained physicians who specialize in diagnosing and treating a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and liver disease. You will play a crucial role in delivering top-notch care by providing consultations and services in a clear and understandable manner, ensuring that our patients receive the best possible treatment. We take pride in our friendly and supportive work environment, where continuity and trust are nurtured through stable and long-lasting relationships with our patients. While we work collaboratively as a group, each patient is assigned a dedicated gastroenterologist, ensuring personalized care and attention. Medical Assistant at Stark Ambulatory Surgery Center : The Medical Assistant maintains all endoscope equipment in a safe, efficient manner according to OSHA, SGNA, and manufacture guidelines. Maintain work environment in keeping with infection control guidelines to promote quality patient care. Functions within the philosophy, policies and procedures of the ASC and represents the practice within and outside the organization. Works cooperatively with all other staff members. This position reports to the Charge Nurse and ASC Director. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED required Medical Assistant, Certified Nurse Assistant or Patient Care Technician clinical training. $2,000 Sign-On Bonus (Taxable) Available Full-time, 40 hours/week Days Variable Schedule Onsite Summary: The Medical Assistant II role provides Proficient level clinical and administrative support for patients under the direction of a Provider and/or licensed Nurse and assist with training needs within scope.
