We are looking to add to our Visiting Angels Team! PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES : · Understand and adhere to information and precautions contained in individual client’s Care Plan. · Assist the client with personal care activities including: bathing, skin care, back rub, hair care, nail care, dressing and undressing, feeding, oral hygiene, shaving, grooming and bedtime care. · Assist the client to the bathroom or in use of urinal or bedpan. Keep incontinent clients clean and dry. · Assist the client with client's self-administration of medications. · Assist the client with personal communication skills, as needed. · Prepare appropriate documentation of the client care or service(s) furnished. · Report all client and employee incidents/accidents to supervisor immediately. · Assist the client with supervising exercise, ambulation and transfer activities. Be aware of proper body mechanics. · Ensure maintenance of a clean, safe, comfortable and healthy environment for the client. · Observe safety precautions, including: wiping up wet floors, spills and other falling hazards immediately. Also, report safety hazards, frayed electrical cords, unsecured handrails, malfunctioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors/alarms, defective equipment or environmental hazards to supervisor on the same day of observation. · Engage in respectful social interaction with client, including friendly conversation and empathic support, as well as, respecting client’s privacy and property. · Exhibit positive attitude and behavior and demonstrate respect for employees and clients and maintain absolute confidentiality of all information pertaining to clients, clients' families and employees. · Respond and attend to client’s requests promptly. · Communicate effectively with all members of the team. · Maintain proper hand washing techniques. · Participate in required in-service training programs to meet regulatory requirements. · Understand the importance of seeking assistance, as needed, from your supervisor and/or others; demonstrate capability and dependability in following instructions. · Understand that regular, consistent attendance is necessary to serve clients. · Accept and fulfill assignments with the Agency; exercise judgment in accepting assignments. · Perform related duties and responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the management team. SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND PERSONAL ABILITIES REQIRED : · Must be eighteen (18) years of age. · Demonstrate sympathetic attitude toward caring for others. · Previous experience in private duty home care preferred. · Ability to listen and communicate clearly, fluently and diplomatically orally and in writing. · Ability to remain flexible, resilient, calm and maintain a sense of humor; and present a well-groomed professional image. · Ability to generate goodwill for the organization and its management among staff, clients, and referral sources. Demonstrate a strong commitment to client service excellence. · Possess and maintain good physical and mental health, including current TB testing. · U.S. Citizen or evidence of valid Alien Work Permit. The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to the following: Locating patients, obtaining accurate vital signs by visual and auditory measures, triaging patients, assessing patients’ medical condition, and preparing patients for physicals and medical treatment by Physicians and Nurses; Understanding and using the electronic medical record system; Ordering lab, x-ray, and medical supplies as directed; Notifying the Nurse and/or Physician when the patient is ready for exam while communicating symptoms and relaying questions about lab or x-ray needs; Assisting Nurses and Physicians with various forms of patient treatment and care; Handling Physician and Nurse requests with respect and in a timely manner; Performing lab duties as assigned; Performing phlebotomy procedures; Sterilizing and setting up instruments; Receiving and storing supplies; restocking treatment rooms as needed; Reporting to the Charge Nurse before leaving at the end of the shift; Following ancillary guidelines as deemed necessary by the Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor, DMS, and Physician; Adhering to established policies and procedures; Maintaining cleanliness of the treatment area and completing biological cleanup in accordance with OSHA guidelines and other maintenance assignments as directed; Washing, drying, folding, and restocking laundry; maintaining the cleanliness of the washing machine and dryer lint trap; Attending staff meetings as scheduled by the Nurse Supervisor or DMS; Operating, using, and maintaining medical and office equipment as trained; Completing assigned checklists and Policy Manager tasks within the assigned shift; Being available to assist as needed, as breaks and mealtimes may be interrupted at any time to provide necessary patient care or to maintain center operations; Fostering teamwork and ensuring a positive and professional atmosphere; Providing positive, warm, and friendly service in all interactions; Understanding and performing all duties as assigned. Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following: Must be 18 years of age or older; Minimum typing experience; High school graduate or equivalent; Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a hospital or physician’s office preferred; Ability to hear pages, bells, and phone system; Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time (possibly 4 to 7 hours at a time); Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; Ability to attend scheduled CPR classes and code drills; Ability to prioritize and multitask; Willingness to work at any center due to a staffing or center emergency or reduction of work.
