The R6 patient population includes adults and older adolescents with neurological and orthopedic conditions including closed head injuries, strokes, brain tumors, seizure disorders, multi-traumas, and conditions requiring neurosurgical intervention. RNs providing care in the R6 IMC demonstrate astute assessment and critical thinking skills, as patients in IMC often have multi-system issues that require telemetry monitoring, intra-cranial pressure monitoring, medication drips, frequent intervention, or other higher acuity care needs. The Bean 2 patient population consists of adults who have undergone joint replacement surgeries. This unit serves as the Joint Center for our nationally recognized and Joint Commission accredited joint replacement program.
