In this dynamic role, you’ll provide direct care to patients and support to families, while also serving as a floating clinician—temporarily assigned to different hospice branches based on census needs or staffing gaps. As a Hospice RN – Regional Support, You Will: Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care for hospice patients Manage and implement individualized plans of care Support and lead interdisciplinary team members (LPNs, CNAs, HHAs, etc.) Assess and address patients’ physical, emotional, spiritual, and environmental needs Accurately document all care provided and ensure compliance with hospice protocols Educate families and caregivers on care instructions, medications, and safety Participate in the on-call rotation and provide after-hours care as needed Collaborate with physicians, referral sources, and the care team Assist with referrals, regulatory documentation, and payer compliance Travel to various Gentiva hospice locations as assigned to fill urgent needs Schedule & Travel: This role typically follows a Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional on-call responsibilities. Travel is required and may include: Option 1: Overnight travel required to cities within a 100-mile radius. Option 2: Frequent overnight travel to multiple states is required. Option 3: Regional travel with overnight stays based on assignment needs. A company fleet car is provided for eligible employees. A Brief Overview The Medical Assistant, Certified functions as an integral member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in providing direct patient care. The Medical Assistant, Certified performs routine administrative and patient care supportive duties in a Health System medical practice that assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensure the clinic/office runs smoothly. This job will also entail moderately complex procedures and coordinating multiple resources for patient services. May also perform duties for prior authorization, referrals (incoming/outgoing), good faith estimates, and/or payment collections. What you will do Accompanying patients to exam rooms, preparing patients for exams. Performing and documenting vital signs. Assisting with procedures. Preparing and administering medications with physician’s authorization, Performing EKGs. Using CPR skills when required. Drawing blood. providing patient education with regards to office policies, medication, and management of disease, home treatments, and special diets. Responsible for stocking exam rooms, cleaning rooms, cleaning instruments, disposing of biohazard waste according to OSHA standards, and performing accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times. Adhering to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations. Education Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Required Experience Qualifications Two (2) years of related customer facing experience, preferably in healthcare. Required Skills and Abilities Computer knowledge, required. Ability to demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills required to interact with patients, patients’ families/visitors and clinical staff, including all levels of providers. Ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Must be able to work independently with limited supervision. Phlebotomy skills and experience, preferred. Licenses and Certifications Certified Clinical Medical Assistant - National Healthcareer Association Required or Medical Assistant - American Medical Technologist Required or National Certified Medical Assistant - National Center for Competency Testing Required or Certified Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Assistants Required Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire.
