Location: Oncology Consultants Pay Range: $80,000.00 - $170,000.00 Position Summary Assists physician in the care and teaching of patients. Key Performance Areas Assess the physical and psychosocial status of patients by means of interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic studies. Write prescriptions for: medication, blood products based upon laboratory results, routine diagnostic and follow-up studies, therapeutic measures, and care post-discharge in accordance with written practice protocols. Based on findings, determine eligibility of patients for entry into clinical trials. Interpret and evaluates findings of studies / tests. Relay appropriate information regarding patient care to the collaborating physician. Administer therapeutic measures / obtains specimens as prescribed. Dictate follow-up letters to referring physicians with summaries of treatment, response and plan. Dictate or writes patient history, admissions, progress notes, and discharge notes in a timely manner. Assist in the management of family dynamics and coping mechanisms during acute and chronic phases of patients’ care. Conduct or participate in daily multi-disciplinary rounds for assigned patients to ensure patients are receiving appropriate and quality care. Provide on-call coverage and performs hospital rounds as needed. Triage patients to determine urgency of physician evaluation. Document and reports care in an accurate, timely manner using appropriate forms and records. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and to remain flexible in the changing health care environment. Keep work area and records in a neat and orderly manner. Maintain all company equipment in a safe and working manner. Maintain and ensure the confidentiality of all patient and employee information at all times as required by the HIPAA regulations. Assist in training new employees to related job duties. Will be expected to work at any Company location to help meet the Company’s business needs as directed by collaborating physician. Will be expected to work overtime when given sufficient notice of required overtime. Position Qualifications/Requirements Education Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant program. Master’s degree required. Certifications/Licenses APRN or PA license in appropriate state. Prescriptive privileges or eligible to apply. Current certification from ANCC or ONS (AOCN-P). Current BLS. Previous Experience Minimum 5 years experience as APRN or PA, specifically in Oncology. Location: Oncology Consultants Pay Range: $51,646.40 - $95,929.60 Job Description Summary: Provides safe, accurate and efficient patient care, including but not limited to: patient assessment, review of labs and vital signs, medication safety, dose verification, and drug administration. Follows all Job Breakdown Instructions (JBIs) associated with role. Provides triage care when necessary. Communicates patient condition effectively to multidisciplinary team members. Key Performance Areas: Safely and accurately administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, supportive care, and non-oncologic agents to patients as ordered by providers. Will use Oncology Nurse’s Society (ONS) standards and guidelines. Accurate and safe disposal of biohazardous waste, per OSHA and NIOSH guidelines. Responsible for new and ongoing patient education, continual patient assessment, and support. Documentation: Thorough, accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) of treatment rendered to patients. Ensure appropriate charges are captured by following guidelines for appropriate administration of all medications and activities. Will follow proper patient identification per JBI for all patient encounters. Teaching: Educate patients and caregivers about medications, side effects and planned treatment course. Interact with patient and family in a caring, professional manner. Telephone triage: Includes prioritizing incoming calls and messages from patients, family members, hospitals, nursing facilities, pharmacies, and physician offices from emergent to non-urgent. Must respond accordingly in an appropriate time frame. Supplies: Includes assisting with inventory and re-stocking medical supplies, recommend purchase of new items as needed. Place stock in storage areas in a timely manner. Complete annual required safety and nursing trainings. Attend all mandatory staff meetings as necessary.
