This 12-month, non-tenure track position offers an exciting opportunity to engage with innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies, and the latest industry trends. You will report directly to the Director of the Nurse Anesthesia Program, with indirect reporting to the Executive Director of the School of Nursing and the Dean of the Oxley College of Health and Natural Sciences. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Teaching, Counseling, and Evaluating Students (70%): Teach an average of 8 credit hours per semester. Develop and deliver course content aligned with the Nurse Anesthesia Program curriculum, institutional learning outcomes, and COA accreditation standards. Assess and evaluate student performance through examinations and assignments. Maintain regular office hours to counsel students on academic and career issues. Facilitate student learning through innovative teaching methods and educational technology. Monitor, guide, counsel, and advise students in their progression through the program. Advising on Doctoral Projects: Support students in the development, execution, and completion of their doctoral projects. Serve on DNP project teams and guide NA students with scholarly DNP projects. Promote students’ dissemination of projects through written and oral presentations at national, state, and university levels. Clinical Competency (20%): Engage in clinical practice to maintain expertise and contribute to the program’s clinical standards. Serve as a role model for students by demonstrating excellence in clinical practice. Faculty Scholarship (5%): Participate in professional organizations and conferences. Engage in personal scholarly activities, including research, presentations, and publications. Service (5%): Participate in the annual admission and evaluation processes for the Nurse Anesthesia program. Serve on University, Oxley College of Health and Natural Sciences, and departmental committees as appointed or elected. Serve as a member of the DNP Council. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Doctoral degree in nursing, nurse anesthesia, or related degree (e.g., Ph.D., Ed.D.) from an institution of higher education that was accredited by an agency officially recognized by the US Secretary of Education to accredit institutions at the time the degree was conferred Graduate of an accredited graduate program for Nurse Anesthesia Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; a minimum of two years’ experience in the clinical setting as a CRNA Current unencumbered license to practice as an APRN-CRNA in Oklahoma compliant with state law Current certification or recertification by the NBCRNA Effective interpersonal and leadership skills The ability to work effectively with students, faculty, healthcare professionals, patients, and other members of the healthcare team A commitment to excellence in teaching/learning in a graduate level program, consistent with the program mission, vision, and goals An enthusiasm for contributing to the university community. Performs in office diagnostic tests including eye exams, electrocardiograph, administration of oxygen as ordered, pulse oximetry, peak flow and inhalation treatments. Performs in office CLIA-waived lab tests Carries out quality controls related to lab equipment and testing, completes and maintains lab related logs, performs PT/INR utilizing CoaguChek/Coag Sense machine and performs glucose testing utilizing glucometer Completes electronic medical record to include medical services rendered, test results and supplies used. Monitors disposable inventory and places orders for medical supplies and pharmaceuticals as requested Draws blood and processes specimens for send-out Provide patient education as directed by the provider.
