Completes ambulatory care summary by third visit and reviews at each subsequent visit. Obtains and records accurately patient history. Performs and documents vital signs. Completes medication list according to established procedures. Performs applicable POCT as ordered by LIP. Assists physician in performing procedures. Establishes and maintains a safe and sterile environment that provides for the health, safety and security of patients. Reviews laboratory and other test results daily and prioritizes them for LIP according to established policy. Provides information to patients regarding prep or procedure under the direction of the LIP. Administers prescribed medication, therapies and treatments in accordance with licensed practical nursing standards. Identifies and labels patient information and records to ensure a high degree of accuracies. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality. Prepares, operates and maintains equipment in accordance with established polices, procedures and practices for sterilization, safety and proper operational condition. Documents quality control for point of care testing as assigned. Obtains and documents refrigerator temperatures for medications and specimens and takes appropriate action for out of range results. Works with team members to achieve maximum productivity. Seeks out appropriate resources to increase practice knowledge. Demonstrates willingness to assist co-workers during periods of heightened patient activity. Completes competency assessments as required by Capital Health (CH) and regulatory agencies.
