The Licensed Vocational Nurse II (LVN II) is an individual with specific knowledge and technical skills to assist the Registered Nurse (RN) or Medical Provider. The LVN II utilizes the Nursing Process to provide therapeutic care to a specific population of patients, under the direction of the RN or Provider. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education/Licensure/Certification: High School graduate or equivalent required. Current CA Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Knowledge: One year of experience practicing as an LVN preferred. Skills: Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required. Must have injection skills, phlebotomy skills, EKG experience and medication administration skills. Basic computer and data entry skills. Familiarity with medical terminology, patient/family health education, instrument sterilization techniques and taking vital signs also required. Comfortable with regularly verifying and processing insurance eligibility and obtaining authorization requests, including verifying personal credentials with external partners to obtain this information (e.g., ID.me for identity verification for VA insurance coordination).
