Participates with post anesthesia care unit personnel in a patient safety oriented interface when patients are transferred from the surgery suite. Monitors patients vital signs, such as blood pressure and observes any significant physical changes; informs anesthesiologist and/or surgeon of patients condition and takes any necessary remedial action such as infant resuscitation when necessary. Mixes solutions to required concentrations, such as pentothal, succinylcholine, vaso-active drugs etc. Keeps current accurate and complete record of procedures performed and patients conditions immediately prior to the administration of anesthesia according to established standards. Performs procedures done outside of OR, such as intubation, arterial line placement, etc., in accordance with policies and procedures, competencies, and physician order. Hourly rate: $23.00- $30.00 This position offers monthly incentive pay based on performance metrics. Process co-pays and schedule patient appointments for assigned center. Coordinate provider referrals to assigned Specialist. Answer patient questions regarding their care and keep them informed of their status. Inform technical staff of patient flow. Prepare patients for examination, which includes conducting interviews to verify patient information, record medical history; confirm purpose of visit Perform preliminary physical test (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) for vital signs and escalate critical cases to provider as needed. Conduct point of care testing as needed (i.e., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG); and provide patient information to provider. Responsible for stocking supplies and maintenance of exam rooms, front desk, and reception area; ensure providers have medical supplies needed. Responsible for completing order sheets to maintain supply inventory levels; regularly check expiration dates on supplies. Responsible for maintenance of medical records and scanning charts to patient files. Answer phone calls, collect and sort daily incoming and outgoing postal correspondence Ensure reception is well maintained Conduct courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up. Perform opening and closing duties, which includes cashing out, end-of-day communication, and securing the building. Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs for equipment troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets as needed. All other duties as assigned. This position requires work as both a UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Supervisor and Central Patient Placement (CPP) RN, depending on departmental need. Under the direction of the Director of Hospital Operations, the Benioff Children’s Hospital Supervisor seeks to improve patient care delivery through problem solving and crisis intervention, including disaster management on a broad level. The Hospital Supervisor is recognized as an administrative leader and clinical resource and is accountable for the optimal, safe, effective and timely bed placement of all patients at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals . They utilize nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to assist in the delivery of safe, therapeutic care. While functioning as a CPP RN, they are responsible for effective and timely bed placement for all patients transferring to and located at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. They are responsible for assessing patient level of care placement needs, giving and receiving report. The CPP RN facilitates Pediatric Access Center admissions by screening patients for clinical necessity of the transfer and determining appropriate level of care. They also collaborate with the Financial Counselors to ensure appropriateness of transfer, while acting as a liaison between the CPP department and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Physicians, Nurses, Case Management and Hospitality.
