The MedSurg Inpatient Unit is great for a nurse who desires variety, challenges, opportunities, and support from an enthusiastic and cohesive pediatric team. This is a dynamic group of people who love working with children and their families in the southern part of Colorado. We build relationships with families for a lifetime. The MedSurg unit is a mix of many patient populations and a great opportunity for you to use all your skills you learned in nursing school. We care for children with a variety of medical conditions including gastrointestinal, neurologic, metabolic, renal, hematological, oncological, infectious disease, behavioral, pulmonary, and immune deficiencies. We care for simple medical patients such as asthma and bronchiolitis, to complex medical patients, such as diabetic ketoacidosis. We also care for simple postoperative care to complex postoperative care such as spinal fusions. We provide hematological and oncological care to children in Southern Colorado, providing social/emotional development, as well as high-quality nursing care to this special patient population. CO Springs Hospital is a Pediatric Level 2 Trauma Center, so we also care for a variety of traumatic injuries. Licenses & Certifications BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least six (6) months left before expiration is required upon hire.
