With advanced training and expertise, the APP focuses on subspecialized care, including chronic illness and disease management, ensuring continuity of care throughout the patient’s healthcare journey, which may span multiple years. Outpatient Position Location: Melrose Clinic Position Hours: .2 FTE (8 Hours Per Week) Key Responsibilities: Obtains and documents a health history; performs and documents complete, system-focused, or symptom-specific physical examination, assessment and plan of care. Organization: Radiology APPs Job Summary: This is a hybrid clinical and procedural APP role. The APP acts as an adjunct to the Interventional Radiologists' practice focusing on the clinical and procedural management of patients treated by the section of Interventional Radiology (IR). IR performs approximately 7,500 procedures at Vanderbilt University Hospital and about 2,000 procedures each year at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. We also see approximately 2,500 patients in the IR clinic at VUH and 750 patients in the Vanderbilt Vein Clinic at One Hundred Oaks annually. The Leadership Team is comprised of a Medical Director, Administrative Director, Clinic Manager, a lead Clinical NP. Clinic staff members include Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Patient Services Representatives. Various support resources are also available, such as, social work, referral specialists, laboratory and radiology. The rapid response team (also known as the Critical Care Outreach Team - CCOT) provides 24 hour coverage across the hospital for episodic care when patients have an acute change in clinical status outside of an ICU. The rapid response/CCOT NP or PA works with the primary team and supervising intensivists to evaluate a patient’s clinical status and identify interventions to stabilize any acute changes while considering moving the patient to a higher level of care. RRT/CCOT is responsible for documentation and data collection related to rapid response and STAT activations as well as education to patients, nurses, and physicians in relation to rapid response and STAT calls ICU Support Team The Critical Care APP works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team. The NP/PA provides healthcare in critical care settings, including surgical and medical ICUs. The APP has didactic education, clinical competency and national certification in identified area of clinical practice. Upon moving to a new ICU, the APP will receive adequate training and support before moving to a more independent role within the ICU for 8 continuous weeks. Each year, the APP will spend blocks of time working on the RRT/CCOT as well as supporting a new ICU for several months where staffing shortages are occurring. About Our Kids Center: The Our Kids Center specializes in providing forensic medical evaluations for children when there are concerns of child sexual abuse. Serving approximately 750 children in Middle Tennessee each year, Our Kids is a recognized leader in forensic medical evaluations and research in this field. The successful candidate will be a PRN employee at Nashville General Hospital and assigned to the Our Kids Center. Key Responsibilities: · Provide after-hours coverage which includes at a minimum 8 shifts per month, some of which are required to be weekends. JOB SUMMARY: As a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional medical care to patients of all ages with a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions. Working collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals, you will diagnose, treat, and educate patients while ensuring the highest standard of care and service. Other duties may be assigned. • Provide exemplary customer service to patients, visitors and coworkers • Provide convenient, friendly patient care to all who come through our door seeking health related services • Provide leadership, direction, and assistance during emergencies while maintaining a comforting and reassuring affect for patients • Working environment subject to varying fast paced and high stress conditions, including long and variable hours, changing locations, and continuous and frequent contact with others • Performs medical assessment, treatment, management and follow up of clinic patients including, but not limited to: primary care, urgent care, occupational health, DOT physicals and workers compensation • Performs medical procedures including, but not limited to: laceration repairs, nail removal, pap tests, injections, splinting and abscess incision and drainage • Establishes and monitors a medically appropriate level of care for clinic patients • Oversees, directs and supports on site laboratory, x-rays, injections, and collections for direct access services, if applicable • Maintains clinical core competency • Works with Center Leadership and other staff to ensure operations are consistent with medical policy and professional standards • Cooperates and participates in the development, implementation and revision of policies affecting medical practice, quality of care and patient satisfaction • Participates in and assists with in-service and continuing education programs for physicians, nurses and other personnel employed by or associated with Company • Recommends potential means of growth and development for new and/or existing services within the Center • Assures compliance with licensing, certification and accrediting bodies • Participates in development and presentation of education programs for staff • Represents Company and the clinic as reasonably required at internal and external meetings or events • Provides guidance to other medical staff (e.g. physician assistants, nurse practitioners and medical assistants) to ensure quality professional services and patient satisfaction WHAT'S REQUIRED? • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant • Active state license as an APRN or PA • Current Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) Board Certification • Current DEA license, or eligibility to obtain upon hire • Current DOT certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire • Current BLS certification WHAT'S THE SCHEDULE? Our full-time team members work a rotating 36-40 hour/week schedule, consisting of 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend. Our PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis.
