Overview About the Position: This position is located at Naval Health Clinic New England, Newport, Rhode Island. Naval Station Newport (NAVSTA Newport) is a United States Navy base located in the city of Newport and the town of Middletown, Rhode Island. Naval Station Newport is home to the Naval War College and the Naval Justice School. It once was the homeport for Cruiser Destroyer Force Atlantic (COMCRUDESLANT), which relocated to Naval Station Norfolk in the early 1970s. In 1989 the base was added to the National Priorities List, after contamination had been discovered years earlier. Per Diem ICU Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant PA – Kent Hospital Kent Hospital, an affiliate of the Care New England Health System (CNE) is seeking an ICU Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our collaborative team in Warwick, Rhode Island. Kent Hospital is a 359-bed acute care facility and is the largest community hospital in Rhode Island. As an essential member of the team your primary responsibility will be managing of a caseload of critically ill complex patients in a critical care setting on the ICU unit (14 beds) or PRG Unit (10 beds). The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides comprehensive, high-acuity medical care to critically ill patients in collaboration with intensivists, physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams. The APP functions as an integral member of the critical care team, delivering evidence-based care, performing advanced procedures, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Position Highlights Join a team of 9 critical care advanced practitioners while being supported by Pulmonary Critical Care attending physicians 100% clinical practice seeing average of 15 patients per day with Inpatient management (Avg 3-4 patients) and consults (Avg 12 patients) including procedures including as intubations, central lines, lumbar punctures, thoracentesis, arterial lines etc. 1-2 12-hour shifts per month required.
