Job Details: “Protect. Prevent. Promote Health – Join Us as an Occupational Health Nurse” Occupational health nursing is a specialized discipline focused on delivering comprehensive health and safety programs to workers and workplace populations. The practice emphasizes promoting and restoring health, preventing illness and injury, and protecting individuals from work‑related and environmental hazards. Responsibilities: Conduct medical history and physical assessments to promote health and prevent illness. Provide education and guidance to team members on communicable diseases and wellness initiatives. Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and ethical practice. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure team members’ safety and recovery. Respond quickly to incidents and emergencies to provide first aid and other emergency care, such as CPR, as needed. Requirements : Education: Current unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse (RN) is required. Experience: 1+ years of nursing experience is preferred but not required. May consider new grads w/LPN experience and/or BSN degree. Occupational Health experience is not required. We will train on the job! Computer Skills: Basic computer skills and comfort with electronic medical documentation. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to get along with others. Special Skills: Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk unassisted through the plant, quickly respond to medical emergencies, climb stairs, assess team members swiftly, and perform CPR if required; ensure team members and supervisors are following prescribed modified restricted duty requirements. Travel: Occasionally travel to local clinics or hospitals. As the Afterhours Registered Nurse's your primary focus is to conduct comprehensive and timely delivery of hospice care for patients and their families after regular business hours, including at night and on the weekends. Primary Responsibilities Able to triage patient needs over the phone until a nurse can provide an in-person visit Responds appropriately and with urgency to crisis calls from patients and families afterhours Makes the initial nursing evaluation in determining eligibility for hospice services, as part of a patient visit, within forty-eight (48) hours of referral if assigned Competent to perform afterhours visits including admission visits, death visits, recertification visits, and routine visits Identifies the patient/family's physical, psychosocial, emotional, and environmental needs and reassess them as needed, no less than every fifteen (15) days Documents problems, appropriate goals, interventions, and patient/family response to hospice care You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.
