Assigns duties, i.e. restocking crash carts, narcotic counts and assesses duties are completed by end of shift. Demonstrates appropriate awareness for suspected abuse/neglect to geriatric patients and takes measures to report them according to protocol. Identifies and assesses need for additional safety measures. Demonstrates knowledge of the normal aging process. Demonstrates competency and knowledge of special needs and measures for medication administration and knowledge in the identification of sensorium changes. Is familiar with location and use of emergency equipment and drugs for the geriatric patient. Provides education to the patient/family based on assessment of identified learning needs.
