Charge Registered Nurse - Med Surg - DEU (5200) Night

The Charge Nurse works under the supervision of the Director and Clinical Manager, and is responsible for the delivery of efficient, safe patient care through the use of the nursing process, hospital policies and procedures. In addition, the Charge Nurse directs nursing service activities in the department, delegates responsibilities to auxiliary and staff nurses; supervises preparation and maintenance of patient clinical records, and assists with reports on staff performance and services rendered as appropriate or requested. Assists with bed assignments, and various problems as they arise. Maintains preset inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines, equipment, and tracks narcotics and medications. Position Details: Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN) Licensure: Current RN license in the hiring state or compact state required Certifications: BLS (AHA) required within 30 days of hire Additional certifications may be required based on unit, including: ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC, OCN, CPHON, PEARS, S.T.A.B.L.E., C-EFM, or other unit-specific credentials Physical Requirements: Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs Prolonged standing and walking Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, twisting, and squatting Why Mercy? Mercy Virtual Primary Care 365 is powered by Physicians, Advanced Practitioners, and an engaged support staff focused on quality patient care. One - Three years of previous Advanced Practitioner experience in a Primary Care or Urgent setting is strongly preferred. Video visits for primary care patients presenting with acute complaints, assisting with after-hours calls for primary care, assisting with escalations from RNs, assist with in basket management. Completing a minimum of 36 visits per 12-hour shift. We see patients who choose to be seen now by video visit for all Mercy Primary Care regions. This is a hybrid position that will require onsite hours at the Mercy Virtual Care Center in Chesterfield, MO, and work from Home. Minimum of 90 days in office prior to starting WFH. This position will require a Missouri license to start. Licenses to treat in Arkansas, Kansas, Illinois, and Oklahoma will also need to be obtained to care for Primary Care patients in all Mercy regions.
