EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English, both orally and in writing. • Minimum one (1) year work experience as a Nurse Aide; or, o Diploma or certificate as a Nurse Aide. o Diploma or certificate as a Medical Assistant. o Diploma or certificate as an Emergency Medical Technician. o Diploma or certificate as a Patient Care Technician. o Nursing student having completed a semester of clinical fundamentals; or, o RN with a foreign RN license with at least one (1) year acute care experience. • Current certification in BLS/HCP. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: • Graduate of an accredited two (2) or four (4) year School of Nursing. • Hawaii State Licensure as a Registered Nurse. • BLS/HCP level certification. • ACLS certification. • NRP certification, required within one (1) year of employment. • PALS certification, required within one (1) year of employment. • Completion of Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred. B. EXPERIENCE: • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English. • Knowledge of Acute/ED/OB nursing practices as well as new trends and techniques in nursing. • Ability to provide quality nursing care in times of emergent situations. • Ability to relate effectively to patients of all ages, their families, and staff. B. EXPERIENCE: • Three (3) years progressive experience as a Registered Nurse in any combination of the following: physician’s practice, health clinic operations, and acute care facility. • One (1) year supervisory/leadership experience in an outpatient setting or related medical field. • Prior experience to demonstrate ability to work effectively with physicians.
