As a member of the Heart Hospital team, you will play a vital role in preparing patients for procedures and guiding them safely through recovery. Working in this fast-paced, highly specialized environment, you will perform comprehensive assessments, monitor patient status before and after procedures, manage access sites and recovery progression, provide education to patients and families, and coordinate care with cardiologists, advanced practice providers, cath lab staff, electrophysiology teams, and other interdisciplinary partners. The NICU provides highly technical care, including cardiac, respiratory, and hemodynamic monitoring, as well as ventilator support for neonates requiring specialized intervention. Orientation for new staff in the NICU follows a Competency-Based Orientation (CBO) model, including an online didactic component. The orientation period ranges from 8 to 12 weeks, depending on the nurse's previous experience.
