🩺 About the Role:

This position offers a higher level of clinical care than typically found in post-acute or residential settings. Our facility delivers hospital-level services that are comparable to those provided on a medical-surgical unit. Our highly skilled interdisciplinary team is equipped to manage a wide range of complex medical needs, including intravenous therapy, surgical and wound care, tracheostomy management, mobility assistance, and the comprehensive oversight of lines, tubes, and drains.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care within a healing environment focused on optimal recovery.

Position Highlights at a Glance:

Caseload: ~7 patients
Average Patient Length of Stay: 10–14 days
Conditions: Stroke, brain & spinal cord injuries, cardiac, ortho, complex medical, and more
Team Approach: Work closely with PT/OT/ST, physicians, case managers, respiratory therapy & more
Advanced Care: IVs,trachs, wound care, mobility support, lines, tubes, and drains
12-hour shifts, 3 days/week + rotating weekends/holidays (with added pay)

For these positions, the ideal candidate will have at least two years of psychiatric nursing experience, be comfortable working with the patient population, have experience with phlebotomy, able to float between units, and be willing and able to work night shift. The John S. Dunn Behavioral Sciences Center at UTHealth Houston, inclusive of the Harris County Psychiatric Center (HCPC), offers individualized inpatient treatment options for a variety of behavioral health disorders across the 23 units on-site. These units include treatment in child/adolescent, adult/geriatric, co-occurring disease, psychosis, and competency restoration units. Schedule: Night Shift, 7pm-7am.
