This position offers a higher level of clinical care than typically found in post-acute or residential settings. Our facility delivers hospital-level services that are comparable to those provided on a medical-surgical unit. Our highly skilled interdisciplinary team is equipped to manage a wide range of complex medical needs, including intravenous therapy, surgical and wound care, tracheostomy management, mobility assistance, and the comprehensive oversight of lines, tubes, and drains.

UTHealth Houston’s John S. Dunn Behavioral Sciences Center, the largest academic psychiatric hospital in the country, is hiring Registered Nurses to join their team of professionals on the night shift . For these positions, the ideal candidate will have at least two years of psychiatric nursing experience, be comfortable working with the patient population, have experience with phlebotomy, able to float between units, and be willing and able to work night shift. The John S. Dunn Behavioral Sciences Center at UTHealth Houston, inclusive of the Harris County Psychiatric Center (HCPC), offers individualized inpatient treatment options for a variety of behavioral health disorders across the 23 units on-site. These units include treatment in child/adolescent, adult/geriatric, co-occurring disease, psychosis, and competency restoration units. Schedule: Night Shift, 7pm-7am. Nurses work 7 shifts in a two-week period (3/4 split matrix schedule) Orientation Schedule: All new hires will go through a 4-week mandatory orientation process: 2 Week Hospital Wide Education Orientation: 8:00am – 4:30pm 2 Week Unit-Based Orientation: The shifts are a combination of approximately 2 shifts working 7am and approximately 5 shifts working 7pm.
