The Patient Care Technician , working under the direct supervision of Registered Nurse, is primarily responsible for providing direct, non-invasive bedside care to patients. Participates in evaluation of the effectiveness of interventions in relation to patient responses and seeks guidance in redirection when necessary. Reports to supervisor on patient care rendered, problems concerning patients’ needs, and resolution to those needs. Helps identify patient problems and potential risks and contributes to the development of interventions. Assists in identification of patient’s learning needs and reinforces self-care and other techniques.
