Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Residents with daily living activities, to include, delivering meals, turning and ambulating residents and providing plenty of fluids and nourishment meals throughout scheduled shift
  • Help Residents with personal hygiene
  • Observe Residents and report any health issues to the supervising nurse
  • Document Resident food and fluid intake
  • Assist Residents with feeding and serving nutritional supplements
  • Making the Resident's beds and keeping their living areas clean and tidy
  • Transport Residents within the facility
  • Assist nurses and other staff as needed
  • Adhere to professional standards and follow all facility policies and procedures
  • Abide by all federal, state and local requirements and standards
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all Residents and Facility data

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Qualifications and Skills:

  • Current and Valid CNA certification
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Effective communication skills 
  • Good collaboration and teamwork skills 
  • Fast and adaptive problem-solving abilities 
  • Keen attention to detail

Caregivers hired into this role should be comfortable working in a rehabilitation-focused environment and understand that their primary work location will move from the main hospital to PeaceHealth Springfield Rehabilitation Hospital as part of this planned transition. Job Summary Assists professional nursing personnel in providing quality, compassionate patient care by performing tasks involving direct and indirect patient care, using skills and knowledge in basic nursing assistant procedures and techniques under direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
