The Manager, Nursing is expected to perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the mission and core values of Newport Healthcare and comply with all policies and procedures, OSHA, HIPPA, local, state, and federal, regulations. Essential Duties: Act as liaison between nursing team and Medical Director/Director of psychiatry. Delegate delegating shift-specific responsibilities to maximize efficiency and accuracy in provision of nursing care. Perform 2-4 clinical shifts monthly and fill in for nurses who take vacation/call out, as well as stepping in to perform clinical duties if team is short staffed. Perform chart audits on a weekly basis and address any missing or erroneous documentation immediately. Review all medication error reports and internal incident reports related to medications. Completion of all compliance-related nursing documentation and treatment plans when indicated that RN may complete. Compile and distribute reports as required. Act as liaison with local pharmacies regarding any payment issues and communicate with admissions staff when issues arise. Phlebotomy when ordered by MD and communicate with Quest regarding pickup. Uphold all policies and procedures of Newport Healthcare. Qualifications Applicable State Requirements Virginia Must pass a Health Screening, TB test, and pre-employment drug screening. Current RN license in the state in which you are applying required. Minimum of two years of prior nursing experience preferred. Minimum of one year management/supervisory experience preferred.
