Responsibilities and Duties of CNA:

In this role, you will have the chance to perform personal care activities that assist the client with activities of daily living, which include (but are not limited to):

  • Assisting with transferring/moving client from place to place throughout their home
  • Performing light housekeeping activities 
  • Preparing meals and snacks according to instructions
  • Accompanying client on errands or medical appointments
  • Bathing/Showering/Dressing
  • Medication reminders
  • Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises
  • Dementia care
  • Companionship activities such as reading, music, puzzles, etc.

 Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
  • It is a plus if Home health aid lift/move 50 lbs without assistance 
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance
  • Pass a background check
  • CNA license, Home Health Aide and/or Personal Care Aide certification preferred
  • It is a PLUS if you are COVID VACCINATED

EQUIPMENT USED Blood pressure gauge, thermometer, etc. SUMMARY OF OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURES Tasks assigned to this position may involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious disease, air contaminants and hazardous chemicals. May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset patients, family members, associates and visitors. OTHER CONSIDERATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS In this position, the associate is required to be on his or her feet continually throughout the day. In a full-time nonrestrictive basis, the associate must be able to lift at least 40 pounds of weight, which is required when transferring a patient from a bed to a wheelchair. A transfer belt is necessary and required when transferring any patient. This is for the safety of not only the patient, but also the aide. Other nurses are available to assist with heavier patients as needed.
