Responsibilities of Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN):

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor and document residents' health conditions, including vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatments.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans.
  • Provide nursing care for residents, including wound care, catheter care, and assistance with daily living activities.
  • Collaborate with physicians, RNs, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
  • Educate residents and their families about health management and procedures.
  • Ensure that all care is delivered in accordance with regulatory and facility guidelines.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide critical care when necessary.
  • Assist with training and supervising nursing assistants (CNA).

About the Role: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit plays a critical role in delivering high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from serious injuries, surgeries, or illnesses. This position focuses on supporting patients through their rehabilitation process by monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with therapeutic activities under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians.
