Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Supports and promotes the nursing department functions on the unit by following established policies and procedures

  • Is knowledgeable and responds to nursing and building emergencies according to established policy and procedure.

  • Assigns duties and responsibilities to unit staff members in a manner that facilities optimum delivery of care to residents

  • Conducts regular rounds on the unit and notifies appropriate personnel of findings

  • Supervise and evaluate all direct resident care

  • Obtain report from nurse being relieved and record sufficient information to implement appropriate follow-up action as necessary

  • Identify safety hazards and initiate corrective action immediately

  • Identify resident problems and emergency situations and initiate emergency care and life-saving measures in the absence of a physician

  • Participate in facility education and in-service programs

  • Provide supervision to Nursing Assistant providing direct resident care. Provide resident care as necessary

  • Perform comprehensive assessment of residents as assigned

  • Promptly report changes in resident conditions to RN Supervisor, Physician, Director of Nursing and responsible party. Take follow-up action as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Active LPN license in the state of Pennsylvania

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Strong patient assessment skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively

  • Demonstrate clinical competency

All candidates must pass pre-employment screening and PA Criminal Background in accordance with the PA Older Adult Protection Act.
