As a MAT Nurse Practitioner , you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide support to the patients within the facility struggling with substance abuse. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex needs. Responsibilities The MAT Nurse Practitioner plays a critical role in our continued mission to provide quality care that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Duties and responsibilities may include and are not limited to: Provide comprehensive Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services for incarcerated individuals with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD), with a primary focus on buprenorphine/naloxone (Suboxone). Conduct initial and ongoing clinical assessments for OUD, including substance use history, withdrawal evaluation, psychiatric and medical comorbidities, and readiness for treatment. Initiate, continue, adjust, and monitor Suboxone therapy in accordance with evidence-based guidelines, DEA regulations, and correctional health policies. Manage induction, stabilization, maintenance, and tapering phases of MAT as clinically indicated. Collaborate closely with correctional healthcare staff, custody staff, mental health providers, and substance use counselors to ensure coordinated, safe, and effective care.
