Involves coordinating with healthcare providers to maintain compliance with utilization management guidelines and optimizing treatment plans for effective patient care and resource utilization. Requires clear communication of authorization decisions and ongoing monitoring to support timely discharge planning. Analyzes utilization data to identify trends and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to enhance care coordination while ensuring accurate documentation and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Evaluates patient medical records to determine the medical necessity and appropriateness of healthcare services. Coordinates with healthcare providers and care teams to ensure compliance with utilization management guidelines and payer requirements. Supports effective treatment planning, patient care coordination, and appropriate resource utilization. Communicates authorization decisions and utilization determinations while supporting timely discharge planning efforts. Analyzes utilization management data and trends to identify opportunities for improved care coordination and operational efficiency. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure accurate documentation, regulatory compliance, and quality patient outcomes. Qualifications Education & Licensure Registered Nurse (RN) with a current Florida nursing license required. Experience & Skills Minimum of three (3) years of experience in utilization review, utilization management, or case management required. Knowledge of healthcare utilization guidelines, payer requirements, and regulatory compliance standards. Experience evaluating medical necessity, treatment plans, and appropriate levels of care. Strong communication and collaboration skills related to authorization determinations and care coordination. Demonstrated ability to analyze utilization data, identify trends, and support patient care and discharge planning initiatives.

RN | Cardiovascular Unit | Full Time | Nights

Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for managing the individualized patient care by promoting and restoring patients’ health through the nursing process. The RN provides direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, evaluation, and patient health education within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. Responsibilities Coordinates care in collaboration with members of the patient’s treatment team to provide assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation services. Performs physical exams, health histories, nursing assessment and routine observation for patients within established time frames. Provides direct patient care including administering medications, wound care, injections, intravenous infusions and other treatment interventions while operating standard critical care equipment safely and correctly. Recognizes and intervenes in life threatening emergencies, including the administration of emergency drugs, and defibrillator or other emergency treatment. Documents patient assessment findings, care rendered, procedures performed, and other various aspects of patient plan of care making periodic updates related to the patient’s condition and response to treatment. Provides patient and family health education based on assessed needs for indicated health conditions, medications, overall wellness, and directions for follow up care. Adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and quality control methods. All other duties assigned by department. PACU

Charge RN | PACU | Full Time 72hr

Overview The Charge Nurse has responsibility for managing all aspects of nursing care during their assigned shift. This includes facilitating patient admissions, transfers and discharges as well as coordinating daily administrative duties such as scheduling, staffing and nursing care assignments. In this role, the Charge Nurse balances patient care tasks while organizing and directing the activities of their team. Charge Nurses play a key role in assessing patient care needs and monitoring the patient’s well-being throughout their stay in the facility. As Nurse Leaders, Charge Nurses support overall facility operations and goals through interdepartmental networking and teamwork in ensuring the best possible experience and clinical outcomes for the patients they serve. Responsibilities Provides leadership for the nursing team on assigned shift. Collaborates with the Unit's nursing leadership team and other shift Charge Nurses to coordinate patient care and staffing as needed to include assigning lunches and breaks for the staff. Makes patient assignments ensuring effective and appropriate utilization of staff based on patient acuity. Conducts Change of Shift Huddles ensuring bedside change of shift report of assigned staff. Coordinates care in collaboration with members of the patient’s treatment team to provide assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation services. Provides direct patient care including administering medications, wound care, injections, intravenous infusions and other treatment interventions while operating standard critical care equipment safely and correctly. Documents patient assessment findings, care rendered, procedures performed, and other various aspects of patient plan of care making periodic updates related to the patient’s condition and response to treatment. Monitors supplies/equipment, ordering/repairing as required to ensure the quality of care and operational standard are maintained. Ensures cost effectiveness in the use of supplies and forms. Assists nurse manager in the coaching and evaluation of staff performance. Completes other tasks as assigned for department staff, including payroll and time keeping. Acts as a liaison between physicians and administrators and participates in communicating any protocol changes to staff. Escalates issues involving personnel, medical staff, patients, families and the general public to the appropriate management personnel as indicated. Ensures compliance with all healthcare standards and requirements established by various licensing, regulatory and accreditation bodies. All other duties as assigned by department. Qualifications Required education: Associates degree in nursing Required Experience: 1 year of RN experience or 3 years of LPN acute care experience Preferred Experience: 1 year of progressive leadership experience

This position can be flexible to either a 6a-6:30p shift or 8a-8:30p shift, M-F, call required. Must live within 45 minutes of Flagler Hospital. This position is for PACU and pre op holding.
