Position Overview:

Sutter Lakeside is seeking a compassionate, patient focused Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our outpatient Oncology/Hematology team. This role is ideal for an NP who values collaboration, patient education, and providing supportive care throughout the cancer journey.
As part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will support patients from their initial visit through treatment planning and ongoing follow up.

Job Description:

Core Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive new‑patient evaluations, including histories, physicals, and review of imaging/labs.
Manage scheduled follow‑up care, monitoring treatment response, adverse effects, and overall health status.
Assist in developing, adjusting, and implementing individualized treatment plans.
Help prepare and coordinate infusion plans and documentation within the EMR/Beacon system.
Provide guidance and education on medications, side‑effect management, and supportive care resources.
Communicate with infusion nursing, pharmacy, care coordinators, and oncology support services to ensure seamless care.

EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

UW Medicine is the premier academic medical center in Washington state, encompasses 4 hospitals in the Seattle metro area and is the primary referral hospital for the five-state WWAMI (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho) region. The department supports a residency program, four fellowship programs, including Gynecologic Oncology, and is a major teaching site for UW medical students. This is a full-time, 12 month (July 1 - June 30) academic position on a yearly appointment with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026. Qualifications Required Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program, and Masters of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN) Required Certifications and Licensures: Current licensure by the Virginia State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority. Maintains BLS and ACLS Certifications.
