Job Summary : Provides direct patient care, effectively utilizing the nursing process to ensure optimal nursing care and patient outcomes. Completes focused and ongoing assessments and documentation. Completed pain assessment—ongoing and after intervention. Supports patient’s rights and responsibilities, including respect of cultural and religious diversity. Assesses patient and family learning needs and provides ongoing education and evaluation. Documents readiness to learn, teaching, barriers and outcomes. Completes documentation accurately and in a timely manner, according to hospital policies and procedures. Engages in activities to expand and/or enhance the professional nursing role, which includes integration of research and evidence based practice. Expected to participate on committees, projects, as a preceptor and as charge when requested. Provides leadership and autonomy in the professional practice setting and the profession.
