Sampson Regional Medical Center is seeking a Laboratory Tech II to join the Laboratory Department!


Description:

The selected applicants will perform various waived, moderately and highly complex hematologic, chemical, immunohematologic, immunologic/serologic, microscopic, and microbiological tests on specimens to obtain data for use in diagnosis or treatment of diseases.


Requirements:

  • National certification as an MT/MLS/MLT by an approved agency (ASCP or AMT) preferred
  • Two years Lab Tech I or II experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in MLS and 1 year of experience or an Associate's degree in MLT and 2 years of experience required.
  • Knowledge of lab equipment, quality control methods, and report management required

Your expertise will support our medical team in diagnosing and treating patients, contributing directly to their health outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Conduct a variety of laboratory tests on blood, urine, and other bodily fluids using established procedures and equipment. Ensure the accuracy of test results by performing quality control checks and maintaining equipment. Analyze test results, interpret findings, and communicate critical values to physicians and healthcare providers Record and document test results and maintain accurate laboratory records in compliance with regulatory standards. Prepare, handle, and process samples according to established protocols to prevent contamination and ensure reliability.
