Job Description

HOURS: 6:30 am - 5:00 pm x 4 shifts

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides total, comprehensive care to patients by applying the perioperative nursing process in an organized and systematic manner according to institutional policy in keeping with patient safety principles.
  • Collaborates with the patient, significant others and ancillary departments to become a multidisciplinary health care team whose goal is to provide care that is continuous and well-coordinated
  • Communicates proactively to the health care team plan of care changes in patient condition, the patient progress, the discharge plan and other relevant information. 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of nursing responsibilities regarding anesthesia administration.
  • Demonstrates the ability and competency to respond quickly and efficiently in emergency situations.
  • Implements nursing action in transferring the patient according to prescribed plan.
  • Creates and maintains a sterile field
  • Performs surgical counts according to facility policy and procedure.
  • Dispenses drugs and solutions according to policy
  • Competently manages the care of the surgical patient.
  • Provides equipment and supplies based on patient needs
  • Must have excellent communication and computer skills

Qualifications

Education:

Associates degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Required License:

Valid New Jersey State Nursing License

Certifications:

BLS Required

Relevant Experience:

  • At least 1 year of perioperative experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Scrubbing experience preferred

Pay Range: $45.14 - $56.44 Hourly

The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
