Position Summary:

Under supervision of RN preceptor completes patient care assignments within a reasonable length of time, meeting the obvious needs of the patient.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Under supervision of RN preceptor:

  • Completes patient care assignments within a reasonable length of time, meeting the obvious needs of the patient.
  • Contributes to the development of patient problem list using the nursing process:
  • A. achieve established nursing care goals and/or
  • B. prevent further pathophysiology and/or
  • C. correct pathophysiology and/or
  • D. maintain function.
  • Identifies patient’s ongoing and discharge teaching needs.
  • Demonstrates competency and knowledge in performing basic skills. Responds to real or simulated emergency and disaster situations according to established procedure.
  • Maintains a safe patient care environment.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Successful completion of an accredited school of nursing program by start or transfer date
  • Will be required to take the State of Michigan Licensure Examination within 60 days of your hire or transfer date.
  • If RN Licensure is not obtained, GN would require employee to apply for and be accepted into another position within thirty (30) days or employment is terminated.
  • BLS and/or Canadian equivalent by American Health Association or Red Cross Certification
