Location: Central Maine Medical Center – Lewiston

Position Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Daytime (No Nights)

Position Overview

Central Maine Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our inpatient team in a daytime admissions-focused role.

This position is ideal for both experienced APPs and new graduates who have completed extensive clinical rotations, particularly in hospital-based settings. The APP will focus on new patient admissions, ensuring timely, high-quality evaluations and seamless coordination of care.

Preferred Experience

Clinical rotations in internal medicine, hospital medicine, or acute care
Exposure to admissions workflow and inpatient care coordination

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive history and physicals for new admissions
Perform detailed clinical assessments and develop care plans
Collaborate closely with attending physicians and hospitalists
Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic tests
Document all encounters accurately in the EMR
Coordinate care with nursing, case management, and ancillary services
Assist with care transitions and discharge planning as appropriate

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
Active or eligible for Maine licensure
New graduates encouraged to apply with strong inpatient clinical rotations
Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
