Position Summary

The GYN ONC Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works under the clinical supervision of the GYN Oncologists . The role builds upon general advanced provider training and skill sets by requiring specialty focus in women’s services, chemotherapy management, and pre-and post-surgical follow-up. The APP maintains a case load of patients and bills appropriately for services rendered. Clinical support duties, under the supervision of a GYN Oncologist, include accurate preparation of chemotherapy orders, monitoring and evaluating progress of patients under treatment, rounding on patients, first call triage to appropriate surgical or medical coverage, and ongoing monitoring of patients on clinical protocols by working closely with GYN ONC clinical research coordinator. The APP is required to meet all regulatory and compliance aspects of the role and to participate in quality and revenue cycle improvement activities.

Core Job Functions

Clinically assesses patients and assures patients have access to clinical trials opportunities as well as access to clinical support service. Under the direction of the GYN Oncologists oversees the clinical progress of patients along their treatment care plan.
Performs procedures that fall within the scope of licensure and as directed by the GYN Oncologist.
Accurately prepares chemotherapy orders, monitors and evaluates patient progress. Serves as first call triage for on-call patient management. Rounds on patients as assigned by the GYN Oncologist.

Position Summary Under the general direction of the Center for Medication Management Clinic Manager, provide advanced education and care to patients receiving anticoagulant therapy, hyperlipidemia management, and diabetic education. Niacin, Fish oil, and fibric acid derivatives: Fenofibrate, gemfibrozil, and fenofibric acid are several other medications.
