Job Description

UW Medical Center-Montlake has a leadership opportunity for a Nurse Manager to join our Level IV Neonatal ICU team. Our NICU cares for premature and critically ill newborn infants, born here at UW Medical Center or transported in from outlying hospitals.

As part of UW Medicine, the NICU has access to the most advanced neonatal research.
Our team has been instrumental in setting the standard for reducing risk of brain damage and lung problems in premature babies across the nation.
Come work with an interdisciplinary team of neonatologists, nurses, neonatal physical therapists, respiratory care practitioners, pharmacists, nutritionists, other health professionals and parents as members of a baby's health-care team.

REQUIRMENTS

Current Washington State RN license (or ability to obtain)
Graduated from an accredited school of nursing
Five or more years of Neonatal ICU experience
Two or more years Supervisory leadership experience in neonatal nursing
Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher
An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements.
Willingness to enroll in a master’s program if not currently enrolled or already completed

Provides a complete physical assessment and history of current and previous illness(es). 2. Provides professional nursing care by utilizing all elements of nursing process. 3. Assesses and evaluates patient’s status by: A. Writing and initiating plan of care B. Regularly re-evaluating patient and family/caregiver needs C. Participating in revising the plan of care as necessary 4. Initiates the plan of care and makes necessary revisions as patient status and needs change. 5. Uses health assessment data to determine nursing diagnosis. 6. Develops a care plan that establishes goals, based on nursing diagnosis and incorporates palliative nursing actions. Includes the patient and the family in the planning process. 7. Initiates appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures. Fulfills the obligation of requested and/or accepted case assignments. 6. Actively participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS 1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing 2. Registered Nurse, with a License in good standing to practice in the state of Washington. 3.
