Nurse Manager, Emergency Department, Harborview Medical Center

Job Description Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding leadership opportunity for an experienced Nurse to join the Emergency Department, as the Nurse Manager. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS Provide leadership and oversight for the Emergency Department. Ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, high-quality, and patient-centered care. Lead daily unit operations, staffing, and resource management. Support staff development, professional nursing practice, and team engagement. RESPONSIBILITIES Include But Not Limited To Provide leadership to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality, and patient-centered care. Plan, develop, and implement programs and processes that meet patient care needs. Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to Emergency Department nursing staff. Participate in the recruitment, selection, onboarding, development, and performance management of unit staff. Promote professional nursing practice, staff engagement, education, and development. Plan and manage unit resources and participate in budget development and management. Monitor operational and clinical performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Lead and support continuous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and the patient experience. Represent Emergency Department staff within the Division of Nursing and throughout the medical center. Participate in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, programs, and strategic initiatives. Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, inclusion, and excellence in nursing practice. SCHEDULE Full-time Day Shift Required Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license or ability to obtain one. Two or more years of supervisory or leadership experience in an Emergency Department. Bachelor of Science in Nursing Demonstrated leadership experience in a complex emergency department environment. Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and professional nursing practice.
