Job Summary:
MaineGeneral is hiring for an RN Supervisor to provide nursing leadership and operational oversight across four outpatient specialty service lines: Infectious Disease, Nephrology, Allergy, and Palliative Care. This role is responsible for supervising and supporting the clinical support team, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. The RN Supervisor plays a key role in triage, referral review, and workflow optimization, while also maintaining an active clinical presence by providing hands-on support and coverage as needed. This position includes oversight of the Nephrology Aranesp clinic and works collaboratively with providers and leadership to support staff development, operational efficiency, and consistent care delivery across multiple locations.Job Description:
Position: RN Supervisor
Location: Alfond Center for Health (Augusta) AND Thayer Center for Health (Waterville)
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Shift: Days (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM), Monday–Friday
What You'll Do:
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to clinical support staff across multiple specialty practices
- Oversee daily clinic operations, staffing coordination, and patient flow to ensure efficient and high-quality care delivery
- Review and triage referrals, ensuring timely and appropriate patient access to specialty services
- Manage and operate the Nephrology Aranesp clinic, ensuring safe administration and adherence to protocols
- Evaluate workflows and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes
- Conduct annual performance reviews and support ongoing staff development and competency compliance
- Respond to staff needs and assist with direct patient care in complex or high-volume situations
- Provide hands-on clinical support and serve as back-up coverage as needed
- Collaborate with providers, leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
- Address patient or staff concerns and support resolution through appropriate channels
What You Bring:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Maine (or ability to obtain in a timely manner), required
- Minimum of 3 years of RN experience, required
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience, preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, triage, and care coordination skills
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively across multiple specialties and locations
- Experience in specialty care (Infectious Disease, Nephrology, Allergy, or Palliative Care), preferred
