POSITION OVERVIEW:

Ensures proper performance and maintenance of the Cath Lab, assesses patient needs, provides a safe surgical environment while circulating, promotes good patient care, and performs other related Cath Lab duties. Receives direction from: Cardiologists, Cath Lab Manager, Anesthesia, Flexible hours to cover all shifts and weekends as hospital needs demand, including call. 

EDUCATION:

  • Graduate of nursing program, required. 

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years of critical care experience, required. 

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • MT RN licensure, required. 
  • Current BLS and ACLS Certification, required. 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrates effective communication skills.
  • Possess knowledge of the theories, techniques and practices of professional nursing and coronary care nursing.
  • Know the definitions of fundamental computer terms related to applications software and desktop PC's.
  • Know to open, read, and respond to email.
  • Know how to manage electronic files. 
  • Know how to print electronic documents and reports. 
  • Work in a temperature-controlled environment.
  • Potential for contact with chemicals, blood borne pathogens, and exposure to infectious disease. 
  • Able to life 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques several times during shift. 
  • Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
