Summary/Objective

The Licensed Vocational Nurse provides a variety of patient care activities to patients of all age groups, implementing measures to promote a safe environment for patients and others. Maintains awareness of current developments, evidence base practice and trends in nursing research with a focus on the specific patient population in which they are employed.

Calls patients in a timely manner to assist with questions or concerns related to their care, prescription refills, medications. Makes follow-up appointments when appropriate.
Resolves clinical patient concerns or escalates to management as needed.
Interacts with physician practices, pharmacies, drug reps, third party payers and other departments.
Maintains required documentation of patient care and clinic activities in accordance with clinic standards.
Maintains awareness of current operational policies and procedures which impact on position responsibilities. Ensures nursing skills are performed effectively according to established standards of care.

Required Education and Experience

Graduate of an accredited nursing program

1 year previous experience in a physician office setting

Required License/Certifications

Current LVN License in the State of Texas
