Bonus Potential Summary/Objective The Prep Hold (PACU) Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of safe and effective care of the patient having invasive or non-invasive special procedure(s) or surgical suite to include the immediate pre-procedure period and immediately following the procedure. Facilitates departmental operations through completion of all patient logs, charge requisitions and other paper work, as well as maintain required documentation of patient care and unit activities in accordance with standards. Organizes activities during the immediate pre-procedure period to ensure that all required assessments are completed and documented fully, and assumes responsibility for the efficient management of patient in the immediate post procedure period. Communicates information appropriately with Medical Staff and other members of the health care team to promote continuity of care and attainment of patient expected outcomes. Analyzes the assessment data to determine nursing diagnosis and identifies expected outcomes that are unique to the patient. Ensures implementation of operational standards which promote the maintenance of patient rights including, Informed consent, Clarification of patient expectations, Explanation of treatment processes, Maintenance of confidentiality of patient information, Maintenance of patient privacy through prevention of excess exposure during procedures, Ethical considerations, Handling of patient complaints. Required Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited nursing program 2 - 4 years related experience Required License/Certifications Current RN licensure in the state of Texas BLS certification ACLS certification / PALS

The Unlicensed Nursing Assistant may also provide close observation of patients who are a risk to themselves or others either in person or via remote monitoring to assist in the provision of a safe and clean environment. Assists in the cleaning and sanitation of all equipment and supplies used in the unit and adheres to all guidelines regarding use of cleaning products.
