Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working within a high school setting in the Anderson, SC area from February 19th through May 21st. In this role, you’ll provide direct, compassionate care as a classroom nurse for two students—one of whom uses a wheelchair. Both students rely on a caring and skilled RN to support their health needs throughout the school day.
Your nursing expertise will ensure these students’ well-being, safety, and inclusion, assisting with daily medical care, monitoring for changes, and collaborating closely with teachers and support staff. Experience with g-tube feeding and ventilator support is strongly preferred, as is previous work in an educational environment.
Qualifications:
- Active and unencumbered RN license required
- Experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Certified in CPR and basic life support (BLS)
- Knowledge of g-tube and ventilator care strongly desired
- Strong assessment and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with students with complex medical needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on care to two high school students in a classroom environment
- Monitor students’ health status throughout the day and respond to needs as they arise
- Perform g-tube feedings and manage ventilator care (if needed)
- Administer daily medications and treatments per care plans
- Collaborate with educational staff and families to support student participation
- Maintain accurate health records and document in accordance with policy
