Scripps Mercy Hospital consists of two campuses in San Diego and Chula Vista.

Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego’s campus includes the O’Toole Breast Care Center, a 24-hour emergency room that is a Level I Trauma Center, outpatient physical rehabilitation, minimally invasive robotic surgery and our childbirth unit (including a Level II neonatal intensive care unit).

Join our Emergency Services as part of the Base Hospital Clinical Team. Scripps Mercy San Diego is one of seven Base Hospitals in San Diego County. The goal of the Base Hospital Clinical Nurse is to provide education for ER staff (MICNs) as well as providing education and training to Paramedics and EMTs. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of Emergency Services experience with a minimum of 1 year of MICN experience. Must be motivated and thrive in an educator/preceptor role.

The Base Hospital Clinical Nurse works under the supervision of the Base Hospital Nurse Manager. They assist with planning and organizing of Quality Assurance and prehospital education while adhering to State BRN and County of San Diego Continuing Education requirements.

Required

  • Minimum 3 years experience in Emergency Services.
  • Minimum 1 year Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) experience. Strong computer skills.
  • Current CA RN License
  • SD County MICN
  • ACLS and BLS (American Heart Assoc.)
  • TNCC or ATCN certs

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification

  • Preceptor and/or formal training in adult education theories preferred.
