Responsibilities
- Patient Care:
- Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
- Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocol
- Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms
- Follow relevant safety and sanitation guidelines
- Participate in orientation and education of all staff on an ongoing basis
- Participate in stocking and restocking medical supplies
- Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting
- Standards of Performance:
- Promote a positive work attitude and provide patient centered care

- Regular and prompt attendance
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
- Perform all other duties as required and assigned

- Communicates and uses appropriate customer relation skills with physicians, patients, families and healthcare team in person and via telephone
- Responds to overhead pages

- Completes all mandatory unit, educational and hospital requirements
- Utilizes cost effective practices in performing all aspects of the job
- Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
- Other duties as assigned/required.

Additional Information
Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing meeting the minimum standards set by the State of Alabama Required
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for Alabama Upon Hire Required and
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
- ACLS Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Upon Hire Required
- Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
