Responsibilities

This is a highly responsible and independent professional nursing work in the care of patients in the pediatric department of Children's and Women's Hospital . An employee in a position allocated to this classification is responsible for providing highly skilled medical care and treatment to patients as assigned by and under the direction of the collaborating physician; assists in the diagnoses and therapeutic management of patients under the supervision of a physician; organizes and presents patient data to the supervising physician(s) to include recommendations for appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic regimens as determined by patients needs using applicable medical and surgical equipment; arranges inpatient admissions and discharges at the direction of the supervising physician; performs rounds and records appropriate patient progress notes; provides instructions and guidance regarding health care and medical therapy to patients and family members; orders appropriate laboratory, radiological and diagnostic studies; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required.

 

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in nursing and completion of an approved nurse practitioner training program. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in a related field. Licensure with the state of Alabama as a nurse practitioner and registered nurse

Completion of an accredited physician assistant training program as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and licensure with the state of Alabama to practice as a Physician Assistant within two months of employment.

Float Clinician l Hiring at $75-79/hour Fulton Health Center, Fresno, CA Expected Travel to Merced and Visalia when not in Fresno Additional affiliate float differential up to $12/hr What You’ll Do Clinical Care Review and interpret the medical and social history of both male and female reproductive health patients; Perform appropriate medical screening procedures/exams for both male and female patients; Interpret laboratory data, order additional laboratory investigations when indicated and ensure appropriate follow-up; Provide a full range of contraceptive methods, including self-administered options and injections. Perform medical assessment and management of basic STI and genito-urinary conditions for both male and female patients; Provide medication abortion, as indicated.
