As an Nurse Practitioner Specialist on our Hospitalist team, you’ll work alongside dedicated physicians, nurses, and specialists to deliver exceptional care to adult inpatients. Our hospitalists are a vital part of a high-performing system. Our Nurse Practitioner Specialists are integral to ensuring seamless patient transitions and supporting our commitment to quality care day or night.
Nurse Practitioner – Adult Hospitalist
Our multidisciplinary team manages a diverse patient population. You will collaborate closely with a top-notch Rapid Response Team as well as our experienced Emergency Room colleagues. We prioritize sustainable workloads, evidence-based practice, and continuous improvement supported by Lean principles and a commitment to provider engagement.
West Valley Hospital
West Valley Hospital is part of Salem Health, an award-winning hospital system serving Oregon’s mid-Willamette Valley. West Valley Hospital is a 19-bed critical access hospital serving rural Polk County with over 20,000 Emergency visits and 300 surgeries annually.
What you'll do
- Serve as a clinical resource, promoting evidence-based care and seamless coordination across disciplines.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and specialists to ensure patients receive high-quality, timely care.
- Respond promptly to patient needs.
- Contribute to team development and process improvement initiatives.
Required qualifications:
Nurse Practitioner (NP):
- Master’s degree or higher in Nursing or equivalent field recognized by the Oregon Board of Nursing.
- Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program recognized by the Oregon Board of Nursing.
- Current, unencumbered RN license and NP certificate in the State of Oregon.
- Valid NP national certification and DEA registration.
- At least 12 months relevant hospital experience in the past three years.
- If the Nurse Practitioner does not have the relevant hospital experience and cannot otherwise document current competency, a monitoring plan may be required.
- Current American Heart Association ACLS certification.
Additional information
- Knowledge of Lean methodology highly preferred.
