JOB SUMMARY

The Licensed Practical Nurse serves as a member of the healthcare team at UVA Health Northern VA Culpeper by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with other team members to provide care that promotes optimal health. The Licensed Practical Nurse utilizes best scientific evidence and compassion to assist the care of the patient during their health journey. The Licensed Practical Nurse accepts accountability for provision of care, as part of the RN led team, in accordance with the current policies and procedures. Provides and documents patient care under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Nurse Manager/Nurse Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Diploma required. Graduate of accredited Practical Nursing Program required. Completion of a nursing program as approved by the State Board of Nursing.

Experience: 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Licensure: Applicable state LPN license required. Women Children Services – BLS, ACLS (LD), NRP, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal monitoring and/or NCC EFM Certification within one year. CPI certification within three months of hire required for Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, and Central Staffing and Scheduling Office (CSSO).Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.

Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Ability to multitask and prioritize quickly. Ability to communicate verbally and in written form. Basic computer knowledge.
