Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Cincinnati, OH for a Patient Safety Specialist - RN. The Patient Safety Specialist will lead patient safety initiatives by identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks to improve patient outcomes. Responsibilities include investigating safety events, overseeing quality improvement programs, analyzing trends and data, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to implement evidence-based safety practices. The individual will also lead incident reporting processes and contribute to staff education efforts focused on patient safety standards and compliance.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing; Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related healthcare field required, Master's degree preferred
- Strong knowledge of patient safety principles, risk management, and quality improvement processes
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in clinical data analysis, workflow assessments, and root cause analysis
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities to work with cross-functional healthcare teams
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and evidence-based health practices
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Experience in healthcare informatics, patient advocacy, or safety management systems is a plus
