MUSC Children’s After Hours and Specialty Clinics is a pediatric outpatient clinic operating under Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital at MUSC, now opening in the new MUSC Medical Office Building at 700 Buckwalter Towne Blvd in Bluffton. This location brings pediatric After Hours services to the Bluffton community for the first time. During daytime hours, the facility hosts a wide range of pediatric subspecialists, including pediatric gastroenterology, cardiology, and orthopedics, among others. We also provide walk-in After Hours Care, which serves as an extension of the pediatric emergency department to support families during the times when most pediatric practices are closed.

Specialty Clinics Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

After Hours Clinic Open Hours:

  • Monday–Friday, 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  • Weekends, 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Schedule for this role: This full-time position consists of two 12-hour shifts (8:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.), two 8-hour shifts: 12:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and every other weekend from 10:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. with rotating holidays.

Minimum Education and Requirements: Graduate from an accredited Practical Nurse program with six months of patient care experience required. Licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state. A current CPR card is required; either an American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers card or an American Red Cross Professional Rescuer card. Ability to demonstrate commitment to patient centered care philosophy as evidenced by effective communications skills, professional demeanor, and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability and motivation to articulate and support departmental philosophy of excellent guest relations. Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must be computer literate. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
