We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Trauma Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic Trauma and Acute Care Surgery team. In this fast-paced role, you will provide exceptional care to patients with acute and critical injuries, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in our busy Level III Trauma Center. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, demonstrates advanced clinical skills, and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage trauma and emergency general surgery admissions and consults
- Perform daily rounding on patients
- Write progress notes and coordinate follow-up care
- Efficiently plan and coordinate patient discharges
- Perform procedures including central line placement and chest tube insertion
- Collaborate closely with trauma surgeons, emergency physicians, and the broader healthcare team
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (Master’s required; Doctorate preferred)
- Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification strongly preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in trauma, critical care, emergency, or acute care surgery (highly desirable)
- Active Maryland Nurse Practitioner license and current RN license
- National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
- Strong procedural skills and the ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, team-oriented environment
