Job Description

To provide professional ambulatory nursing care to adult patients with hematologic and oncologic diseases. To demonstrate specialized oncology/chemotherapy knowledge and skills gained through formal education and several years of training. To deliver care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating. To coordinate activities of other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care..

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Nursing. BSN preferred. Work experience may not substitute for education requirement. Two (2) years nursing experience preferred. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of employment. BMTC (Bone Marrow Transplant Certification) may be acceptable for specific positions. If working in the Hazelrig-Salter Radiation Oncology Center, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is also required.
